Professional competency is the summation of many cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills. Students are asked to sign a form certifying that they have read, understand, and are able to perform the Essential Functions of the Student Nurse when applying to the program.
These Essential Functions are also reviewed at the program orientation session. The RN program is a space limited program that admits students twice a year in fall and spring semesters.
In addition to applying to the college, students must apply to the program.
Minimum grade point average, reading, writing, math, and science requirements must be met prior to applying to the RN program.
Completion of the minimum requirements and application to the program does not guarantee admission to the program. Entry to the nursing program is competitive and based on academic achievements.
At the end of the third year they will have completed their associate degree in nursing at Clark State and are elibilble to take the national RN licensure exam. During the second and third years students remain Wittenberg students as well with regards to housing and student services and activities.
